Band Camp is OVER!!!

Yes! We got the first show completely on the field and the entire pregame show finished! Plus we know the music for both the broadway jazz show and the rock show AND we've at least read through the music for the patriotic show AND we've played through all of our "rock tunes" for the pregames AND we've read through almost all of our stand cheers and songs! *whew* It didn't seem so tiring until about Tuesday and Wednesday our muscles were so sore that we didn't know how we'd get through the last of it. But then we all got our "second wind" on Thursday morning.

There were some pretty good stories from the "ice cream" social last night. (Note the quote marks? I know Tabi and Kim will understand the point of it, and I'll leave the rest of you to figure it out. You're all smart enough.) It's like a tradition for every Thursday night of band camp. I didn't go, for the reason that I didn't want to be around it all when I'm still not sure exactly who I can trust yet. And I didn't want to drive out there and have to take people home. The really funny part though was that everyone had to be on the field at 8:30 for marching practice this morning. HAHA! Now THAT was funny. Some people were having a little bit of a hard time keeping time and marching to their spots.

Well it's time to go eat dinner. I'm not sure where exactly we'll be. We're supposed to have BBQ under the tent at the watering tree at the field. But it's raining and thundering here. Goodness I hope we don't all have to try to fit into the band hall. They call it the band "hall" but really it was an old maintenance garage that they moved the band into "temporarily". Well, that was several years ago, like so many years that Ms. Lance was in this same building when she was in the band here as a freshman. The bandroom part of it is probably less than 1/4 of the bandroom at home(and I'm not counting the uniform and instrument rooms!) and we have to fit almost 300 people in there! So...I'm really really REALLY hoping that we don't all have to fit into the bandroom!
